Inova Fairfax Hospital is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Labor and Delivery Unit, as well as circulate the OBED. This role will be Full-time Night Shift: 3x12 hour shifts per week; 7:00pm-7:00am. Sign-on bonus and relocation assistance eligible.

Registered Nurse (RN) Job Responsibilities

  • Provides skilled, compassionate care and coordinates patient care.
  • Collaborates with patients, families, and the healthcare team.

  • Advocates for patients’ rights and resolves issues to ensure quality outcomes.
  • Coordinates care across disciplines, ensuring effective transitions.
  • Documents patient care activities and assists team members.
  • Evaluates care processes and adjusts plans based on patient progress.
  • Makes clinical decisions based on data, experience, and intuition.
  • Fosters cooperation and respect among clinical disciplines.
  • Guides staff in assessing patient learning needs and outcomes.
  • Serves as a clinical resource, preceptor, and mentor, and supervises patient care activities.
  • Utilizes care delivery standards, integrating communication, technology, and collaboration.
  • Pursues ongoing professional development and maintains Continuing Education Records.
  • Contributes to performance improvement initiatives and evaluates clinical outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate’s Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
  • Experience: Required 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse, for Critical Care units, 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a critical care setting or completion of a critical care fellowship.
  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start | For Critical Care Units: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support - Within 6 Months | For Pediatric Units: Pediatric Advanced Life Support- Within 6 Months | For Infusion Center Units: Obtain chemo card- within 3 months of hire
  • Licensure: Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state Registered Nurse license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two years of recent inpatient Registered Nurse (RN) experience on a Labor and Delivery Unit.
  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN)

This onsite, non-exempt job is located at the Lakeview Surgery Center, in Bowie, MD, which is part of Prism Vision Group. Compensation Range: $27.98-$58.11/hr (Dependent on Experience) The Pre/Post Operative Registered Nurse reports to the Director of Nursing and provides skilled nursing care using knowledgeable evaluation and assessment techniques in planning for care and treatment of individual patient needs.
