Outpatient Registered Nurse (RN) Job Responsibilities Performs essential duties necessary to clinic or non-acute operations to include: Full Intakes Reconciliation of Medications Patient Education Stress Testing (Regular, Echo and Nuclear) Helping patients manage INR Provides safe/therapeutic care in a holistic and systematic way in a physician practice or other outpatient setting. Incorporates differences into the provision of care while integrating knowledge, skills and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families to include patient and family education. Achieves desired patient outcomes by using an integrated approach. Incorporates data and information to improve care and enhances outcomes while ensuring improvements in practice settings. Provides direction and guidance to others regarding practice while serving as a resource, preceptor and mentor. Ensures efficiency in the delivery of care. Determines immediate priorities and offers solutions for problems. Works with the team to achieve maximum productivity. Makes independent clinical decisions based on knowledge drawn from education and experience. Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelor's Degree Nursing or Associate's Degree. If RN has an Associates Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date. Licensure: RN licensed, or eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse. Experience: 0 years of registered nurse clinical experience. Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association. Preferred Qualifications Greater than one year of RN experience in addition to prior Cardiology Nursing background such as in IMCU, PCU, Tele, CVICU is preferred. We are seeking a Registered Nurse with at least two years of specialized CVOR experience to join our team. Our program has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as “High Performing” in heart bypass surgery, aortic valve surgery, and transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). Sign on Bonus & Relocation Available. Work Schedule: Full time; Day shift (10hr shifts or 13hr shifts). Must be available to take call and rotate weekends, holidays and off-shifts. The CVOR is located on the Inova Fairfax Medical Campus within the Inova Heart and Vascular Institute (IHVI) for adult cardiac surgery and Inova Women’s and Children’s Hospital for pediatric/congenital cardiac surgery.
