About This Role

Reporting to the Urology Clinical Supervisor LPN and Administrative Director, responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide comprehensive care for urologic oncology patients. Ensure nursing care is provided in accordance with the stated philosophy and standards established by the Nursing Service Department, regulatory agencies and professional organizations. Accountable for the safety of nursing care they deliver or supervise. Responsible to the patient and the family or significant others for the quality of direct and indirect nursing care delivered.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Graduate of professional accredited LPN nursing school required.

Experience

2-5 years' LPN experience required, Previous Urology or Surgery experience helpful.

Licensure and/or Certification

Currently licensed to practice professional nursing in Massachusetts required.
BLS healthcare provider required.

Skills

Knowledge of the Electronic Medical Record (EPIC)
Ability to maintain confidential information
Strong interpersonal communication skills on the phone and in person
Strong multitasking skills needed
Excellent customer service skills.
Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.
Computer skills required.
Ability to maintain confidential information.

Attends and participates in interdisciplinary resident care conferences as requested. 16. Assists the attending physician with rounds and special procedures as needed. 17. Participates in the yearly written evaluations of nursing assistants and documents accurately their strengths, weaknesses, and the steps that need to be taken to improve their performance. 18. Assists Staff Development with orientation and on-the-job training for new nursing personnel as needed. 19. Collaborates with the nursing supervisor in documenting disciplinary concerns for nursing assistants on designated shifts, including reprimands, oral and written warnings, and corrective action recommendations. 20. Notifies the nursing supervisor, resident’s physician, and family of a change in the resident’s condition or an accident/incident involving the resident. 21. Assumes any duties that are assigned by the RN Supervisor/ADNS to provide optimal quality resident care. 22.
