EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Associate's degree from an accredited School of Nursing with three years EP lab experience and one year management or supervisory experience.

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION: Current license as a Registered Nurse in applicable state, CPR certification, and ACLS certification.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Ensures readiness of equipment and supplies and recognizes and reacts appropriately to potential emergencies. 2. Establishes a safe, therapeutic and compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological and spiritual support to pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients and their significant others. 3. Manages and facilitates quality care. Identifies and implements changes that enhance effectiveness of patient care delivery. Promotes and monitors compliance with JCAHO and other regulatory agency standards. 4. Promotes a cooperative working environment by utilizing effective communication skills and interpersonal relationships. 5. Coordinates departmental functions. 6. Assures staff development activities that promote and maintain clinical competencies. 7. Participates in electrophysiology and surgical procedures. 8. Administers patient care as mandated by licensure, certification or registration. 9. Ensures the continuous quality of professional services by maintaining professional and technical knowledge. 10. Ensures age/developmentally appropriate patient procedures are provided in accordance with Age-Specific Care Guidelines for the specific age groups served.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: Ability to communicate on a professional level with physicians, nurses and other ancillary professional staff when discussing patient care, procedures or problems Ability to comprehend instructions Ability to obtain/communicate information to patients of varying age group and at their level of comprehension Analytical skills necessary for problem assessment and solution with schedules and equipment Ability to handle daily stressful environment and support employees and physicians in a critical patient care environment
