Provides nursing care to patients using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation). Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members to provide age/developmentally appropriate care in accordance with nursing standards of care and practice. Provide patient/family centered care using the nursing process and focusing on the physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs. This includes providing for the assessment, development of nursing diagnoses, outcome identification, planning, implementation of interventions, coordination of care, health teaching and promotion and evaluation of goals and interventions consistent with the policies of MUSC. Maintains a safe, therapeutic, and healing environment through ensuring patient privacy and responsive, respectful, accepting, and professional behavior. Demonstrates the ability to function in a professional setting through active participation in a professional practice model. Additional Job Description

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred unless current MUSC employee. RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or  Diploma degree in nursing are required to be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two years and successfully obtain a BSN degree within four years of the RN hire or reclassification date. Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.

Physical Requirements:

1. Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
2. Proficiency in manual dexterity and fine motor skills for tasks such as taking patient vitals, administering injections, or conducting physical exams.
3. Capacity to lift and move patients or medical equipment as needed.
4. Visual acuity and color perception to accurately read medical charts, documents, and monitors.
5. Auditory ability to effectively communicate with patients and colleagues, as well as to perceive important sounds such as alarms or patient instructions.

7. Mobility to navigate clinical environments, including moving between patient rooms, offices, and other areas of the facility.

Job Description Summary: An Infusion Nurse II - AIC is a licensed registered nurse who coordinates and provides intermediate direct patient care to patients in the Ambulatory Infusion Clinic (AIC), to ensure patient safety with continuity and compliance under a physician’s plan of care. Works under structured supervision of the designated supervisor. Job Description: ​ Job Responsibilities (listed in order of importance and/or time spent) Initiates, develops, and implements intermediate nursing plan of care treatments, evaluating patient progress towards goals. Organizes and participates in the provision of direct patient care, performs treatments, administers medications, and educates patients and families/caregivers. Modifies plan of treatment in response to changing patient status or physician orders to achieve established or revised patient care goals. Assesses patient needs and physical status at each skilled visit through health data access and patient interview. Re-evaluates patient needs through physical reassessment, response to therapy, and supplemental physician orders. Obtains and clarifies physician orders for plan of treatment revisions, informs physician promptly of significant changes in patient's condition, and provides written summary to physician within supplemental order. Provides effective and safe teaching using patient-centered care approach for patient and family to achieve independence with prescribed therapy and care needs through active participation per plan of treatment goals. Effectively and timely communicates with Option Care’s Clinical team, medical providers, patients, and families/caregivers to facilitate continuity of care.
