Summary:

The Medical Assistant I role functions under the clinical supervision of the Physician/Advanced Practice Provider in a primary care practice. This individual assists in the preparation and delivery of patient care as directed by the provider(s) and other licensed clinical personnel. Clinical duties are skillfully and consistently performed per established clinical policy and procedure.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma required.

  • Required: Either a graduate of an accredited MA school OR a current MA certification.

  • Previous pediatric and/or Epic experience preferred.

Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification:

  • National certification preferred.

  • Current CPR certification required.

Hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 8:00am to 5:00pm

Communicate with patient regarding test results and plan of care by phone or mail as directed by the provider. Prepare, clean and sterilize instruments and maintain equipment, disposing of contaminated items according to protocol. Keep patient exam rooms stocked, clean and orderly. Escalate non-routine issues, questions and/or concerns to the practice manager or healthcare provider(s). Ensure safety checklists/quality controls are completed as required. Provide for patient safety and protection of patient privacy rights. May work in the front office as needed, as well as perform other duties as assigned by practice manager, more senior staff, or as requested by healthcare provider(s).
