Location: Medical Center-Prosper Department: Surgery-IP/OP Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Standard Weekly Hours: 40 Summary: To provide skilled technical care to the pediatric patient in the operating room according to their identified needs. This care includes but is not limited to: performing in the role of Scrub Nurse or First Assistant to the Surgeon and is delivered under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician. These functions are guided by the documented nursing care plan. The responsibilities are primarily directed to technical skills including the use of surgical instruments and equipment. There is close collaboration with other members of the surgical team. Nursing care is based on the nursing process and augments the medical plan of treatment. The Registered Nurse will deliver care with a team-orientation, an emphasis on good customer service, sound clinical judgment and appropriate decision-making abilities that take into consideration evidenced based practice. This position is accountable for providing direct patient care and maintaining expertise for all ages spanning from neonatal/newborn to adult. Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing program. Prefer at least one year of critical care nursing experience. At least two years of experience in Pediatrics. Must have the ability to handle critical care situations with a high level of stress. Certification/Licensure: Board Certified Nursing License. Texas licensed. BLS Certified. PALS Certified. Provides ambulatory nursing care as directed by physician(s) and advanced practice provider(s), including patient focused assessment, intervention, and education. Skillfully and consistently performs daily clinical duties per established policy and procedure. Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of an accredited school of vocational nursing. Minimum of one year nursing experience in a clinic or office setting preferred. 1 year pediatric experience preferred. Operating with a strong team orientation, this nurse integrates sound clinical judgment and evidence-based decision-making to address the unique needs and acuity of the unit’s patient population. The role emphasizes exceptional customer relations and professional communication, ensuring that care is delivered with both clinical precision and a high level of service excellence. By maintaining a focus on safety and collaborative practice, the RN Staff serves as a vital advocate for the patient while contributing to the overall effectiveness and specialized workflows of the designated clinical team. Part-Time, 24 hours per week, Nights (7p - 7a) Experience/Experience: 1 Year of direct nursing experience required. Associate's in Nursing. Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
