Job Description

Responsible for working with other healthcare professionals to help treat patients with various injuries, illnesses or disabilities. Monitors patients, administers medications, keeps records, consults with healthcare providers, educates patients and more.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Maintains accurate, complete health care records and reports.
  • Administers medications to patients and monitors them for side effects and reactions.
  • Prescribes assistive medical devices and related treatments.
  • Monitors, reports, and records symptoms or changes in patient conditions.
  • Assesses, implements, plans, or evaluates patient nursing care plans by working with healthcare team members.
  • Records patient vital signs and medical information.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
  • BLS certification.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
  • All ASN must complete their BSN studies within five years of their start date.
  • Master’s degree in nursing or related field.
  • 1+ year of experience in Nursing or relevant area.
  • ACLS certification.

A Brief Overview Responsible for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of direct care to assigned patients with simple to complex health care needs in inpatient, outpatient and procedural areas. What You Will Do Delivers patient care in accordance with the ANA Scope and Standards of Care and Practice, Patient Bill of Rights and the ANA Code of Ethics for Nurses. Supports a professional practice environment by functioning as a role model and resource person and also functions as a preceptor for nursing staff and participates in the orientation of other unit employees. Participates in unit-based and organization-wide activities, committees and community activities as appropriate Identifies own learning needs with respect to nursing practice and pursues educational support to meet these needs. Routinely utilizes Evidence Based Practice literature, policy and procedure manuals and other available reference materials to ensure consistency and accuracy in the delivery of care.
