The Medical Assistant-Lead plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of a healthcare office, overseeing day-to-day administrative and staff activities. This position manages a small team of 1-5 staff members and supports an office that handles fewer than 50 patients daily. Expertise in electronic health record (EHR) systems is essential, as is maintaining regular coordination with external vendors to support office needs.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support a team of 1-5 staff members
- Address and resolve patient concerns, complaints and conflicts, promptly and effectively
- Exercise critical thinking and problem solving skills to proactively identify potential issues and implement effective solutions to ensure smooth office operations
- Oversee appointment scheduling to optimize patient flow
- Manage patient Insurance eligibility verification -prior to appointments
- Maintain accurate insurance information in electronic medical record system (EMR)
- Maintain inventory control to ensure adequate medical and office supplies
- Deliver excellent customer service to patients and visitors
- Coordinate regularly with external vendors to maintain office operations
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years experience in medical office management
- Ability to perform independently and in collaborative environment
- Strong customer service skills

- Strong organizational skills
- Spanish fluency
