Responsibilities

The Medical Assistant 2 (MA2) performs medical or technical procedures within a Medical Assistant's scope of practice and under direction of the physician(s), assists the medical staff and physician(s) in providing clinical and administrative support throughout the medical office and provides guidance/mentorship to the practice's other Medical Assistants.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE) or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required
  • Completion of a course of study consistent with the requirements for Medical Assistants as specified by the Medical Board of California required
  • 1 year of experience in the medical field required
  • Previous experience in giving injections required
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is strongly preferred

 

Licenses and Certifications

  • BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required

Must be able to read memos, computer screens, personnel forms and clinical and administrative documents. Must have high manual dexterity. Must be able to reach above the shoulder level to work, must be able to bend, squat and sit, stand, stoop, crouch, reach, kneel, twist/turn.
