Certified Surgical Technologist (OR Tech)

We are currently seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (Certified OR Tech). As a Certified Surgical or Operating Room Tech, you greet our patients, comfort them and transport them to the surgical suite. Once in the operating room, you will perform technical duties to assist in preparing and caring for our surgical patients. Typical duties may include:

Assemble supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures
Prepare sterile instrument table for your procedures
Assist in positioning patients and preparing patient’s skin for surgery
Maintain sterile techniques and actively monitor situations that could lead to breaches in sterile technique
Assist the surgical team during procedures which may include passing instruments, sponges and sutures
Assist in monitoring patients
Gather equipment for cleaning/sterilization after procedures

Qualifications

Graduate of an approved surgical technologist program required
Certification as a Surgical Technologist required (NCCT, NBSTSA)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Hospital-based OR Tech experience preferred
Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds
Team player attitude

Your responsibilities will include: Setting up and maintaining the surgical suite with instruments, supplies, and advanced equipment to ensure safe, seamless procedures Assisting with patient transport, positioning, prepping, and draping while prioritizing comfort, privacy, and safety Scrubbing in and partnering with the surgical team by providing instruments, handling specimens, and anticipating the team’s needs Monitoring patients and surgical equipment throughout procedures, responding promptly and effectively to any concerns Upholding sterile technique, completing room turnover efficiently, and supporting a high-performing, collaborative team environment What qualifications you will need: Graduate of an accredited school of Certified Operating Room Technicians (CORT) Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) preferred. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required upon hire. In addition to meeting the requirements of an OR Tech I position, must also be competent to perform as first scrub in three of the four following specialty areas: Robotic, Total Joints, Neuro/Spine and Vascular Surgery.
