Occupational and environmental health nursing is the specialty practice that provides for and delivers health and safety services to employees, employee populations, and community groups. The practice focuses on promotion and restoration of health, prevention of illness and injury, and protection from occupational and environmental hazards. Occupational and environmental health nurses (OHN) make independent nursing judgments in providing health care services with this autonomous specialty.
*Shift Hours- 7-5:30P*Days of Week M-F
Responsibilities
The Occupational Health Nurse is responsible for:
Identifying alterations in health, providing cost-effective clinical care and case management to adult healthcare workers. OHNs are Advocating for employees, promoting safe and health environments in which to work and live.
Supervising, delegate, and direct care provided by Licensed Practical Nurses, and Unlicensed Assistive Personnel.
The RN coordinates care between professional disciplines as needed. Department-based activities which contribute of a positive professional and work environment are performed
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing. BSN preferred. Board certification in specialty area preferred.
Motor Vehicle Operator Designation (Required): Employees in this position: Will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a “non-frequent driver”
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
License to practice nursing in the state of Florida. Current BLS certification.
