The Registered Nurse (RN) Per Diem provides high-quality patient care and applies nursing knowledge to ensure effective medical care and positive patient outcomes on a per diem basis. While working under close supervision, this role works collaboratively with the healthcare team and seeks guidance from senior medical professionals to address challenging circumstances to ensure optimal patient care on designated daily shifts.


Essential Job Function:

  • Assists in conducting patient assessments, examinations, and treatments to contribute to comprehensive and personalized patient care on a day-to-day basis.
  • Supports the analysis of patient data to guide medical decisions, treatment plans, and interventions.
  • Helps implement prescribed medical interventions and treatments to ensure strict adherence to protocols and promote patient safety.
  • Collaborates with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to facilitate communication and coordination of care to improve patient outcomes.
  • Seeks guidance and advice from senior medical professionals on complex patient situations and challenging healthcare circumstances to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Education:

  • Required: Associate's degree in nursing.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in nursing.


Experience:

  • Required: 1 year as a Registered Nurse with 1 year in a clinical specialty as defined by ANCC or national nursing organizations.


Licensure/Certification/Listing:

  • Required: Registered Nurse license in North Carolina or a Compact state; BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider.

The Clinical Practice Specialty Registered Nurse (RN) provides exceptional care and support across various clinical settings. Working under minimal supervision, this role ensures the delivery of high-quality specialty patient care and supports the strategic success of healthcare initiatives for that service line. Specialty Care is office based only and includes the following: Oncology, Allergy, Geriatrics, Pulmonary, Dermatology, Urgent Care, and Endocrinology as well as Cardiology, Neurology, Rheumatology, Occupational Medicine, GYN only, ENT, Vascular, Psychiatry, APPs in Community Care Clinic, Wound Care and Patient Care Clinic settings. Essential Job Function: Reviews patient needs and conditions to deliver nursing care in assigned clinical settings to ensure that every patient receives the direct and proper care needed. Analyzes patient information, including medical history, diagnostic results, and current condition, to develop individualized nursing care plans. Prepares nursing processes, such as medication administration, management and access of vascular devices and treatments to provide comprehensive and effective patient care. Administers medications and treatments, follows established protocols and guidelines to ensure safe handling of hazardous/non-hazardous medications, to ensure patient and staff safety. Reconciles medical records to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies. Evaluates patient response to interventions and identifies any additional interventions needed to meet defined goals of care. Collaborates with interdisciplinary care team to ensure effective care planning. Serves as a knowledgeable resource and mentor, providing guidance, education, and support to colleagues and staff members to promote a culture of continuous learning.
