Summary

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Office RN performs a wide variety of patient care activities and accommodative services to support the medical practice. Reports to Practice Manager/Supervisor and works in close cooperation with and under the clinical guidance of the practice physician(s).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Demonstrates excellence in nursing practice characterized by quality patient care and participation in formal and informal patient and staff education.
Provides developmentally appropriate psychosocial and clinical care.
Performs other duties as assigned.

LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS

Current Virginia state license as a Registered Nurse or Registered Nurse holding a valid Compact State license.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice at a level normally acquired through the completion of an accredited School of Nursing.
Pediatric experience preferred.
CPR Training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire.
Must provide record of a completed diploma (or equivalent) or academic transcript for those areas performing complexity testing.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Normal patient care environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like. Frequent exposure to communicable disease and moderately adverse working conditions due to performance of certain patient care activities.

Summary GENERAL SUMMARY The RN - O/P Staff Nurse plans, provides, and monitors individualized nursing care in response to specific patient needs within a defined scope of practice in either PACU/Day Surgery or the Operating Room (OR). Provides developmentally appropriate psychosocial and clinical care respective to the assigned patient population. Reports to department management. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provides developmentally appropriate psychosocial and clinical care. Plans, provides, and monitors specific patient needs following established policies, procedures, and regulations. Participates in on-going quality assurance, maintains regulatory requirements, and assists in establishing and updating applicable policies and procedures. Performs other duties as assigned. LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS Current Virginia state license as a Registered Nurse or Registered Nurse holding a valid Compact State license. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Associates in Nursing / Diploma in Nursing with applicable experience required. BSN is preferred. For the OR position, 2+ years of recent OR experience is required. RN certification preferred. Pediatric experience preferred. PALS and ACLS required within one year of hire. CPR Training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire. WORKING CONDITIONS Expected to work in a patient care environment with minimal exposure to environmental hazards such as, but not limited to, excessive noise, dust, or extremes in temperatures.
