Registered Nurse - RN - Labor and Delivery (L&D) – Full-time - Nights

This is a full-time night shift (7:30PM - 8:00AM) located at New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, rotating weekends and alternating holidays.

Preferred Criteria

Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) (or willingness to obtain) from NCC
Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) certification from National Certification Corporation (NCC)
Registered Nurse experience in Labor and Delivery strongly preferred

Required Criteria

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
Current New York State RN license
Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) from American Academy Pediatrics
BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
Excellent customer service and communication skills

The Labor and Delivery team at RGH supports approximately 1,500 to 1,700 deliveries each year, providing comprehensive care throughout the childbirth journey, including labor and delivery, management of high-risk pregnancies, and postpartum recovery. Our team is dedicated to delivering exceptional care for both mothers and newborns, offering routine and specialized newborn services, as well as stabilization and support for high-risk infants until transfer to a NICU when needed. Nurses will play a critical role in our fast-paced environment, where 1:1 patient ratios are common, reflecting the complex needs of our patients. Responsibilities include monitoring and administering high-risk medications, managing patients requiring major surgical interventions, and assessing patients in the triage area. RESPONSIBILITIES: · Provides high-quality, patient-centered, clinical care · Performs initial and ongoing assessment of the patient, utilizing appropriate data (i.e. physical, psychological, educational and risk-screen data appropriate for the chronological / developmental age of the patient). · Communicates and documents assessment of patient with the interdisciplinary team.
