Summary

Summary of Position:

Supports the patient care team by performing multifunctional activities such as direct patient care, under the direction of a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, and administrative/clerical support.

Minimum Qualifications

• Formal Education Required:
• Proven ability to read and write English, follow written and oral instructions, and perform basic mathematical functions
• Experience & Training Required:
• Completion of Summa’s orientation and Summa’s certification for the role

• Shows flexibility/adaptability in meeting environmental constraints and demands placed on services as is common with changing reimbursement and managed care targets.
• Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time, frequent pushing, pulling and lifting of patients, cleaning equipment, and materials.
• Ability to provide necessary care for patients (i.e. neonate/newborns, children, adolescents, young adults, middle-age adults, and geriatric adults) as required by position.
• Assumes accountability for demonstrating behaviors consistent with the customer service policy.
• Level of Physical Demands:
• Heavy: Exerts 50-100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or ten to 20 pounds of force continuously to move objects.
• Exposure to blood and body fluids and sharps; risks to falls, strains, contagious diseases, etc.
