Overview

Under direction, to perform work providing medical services to patients within the scope of their license to practice in the State of Indiana in a physician office practice setting.

Responsibilities

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES(*Essential Functions)
  • Assists in identifying potential areas of program development, developing strategic implementation plan, identifying, implementing and coordinating program development objectives from the clinical and nursing perspective, continuous monitoring and implementation of the most efficient and effective patient care systems, designing and implementing of clinical research and quality improvement projects.
  • Identifies patient educational needs and designs and implements a comprehensive patient education plan.
  • Performs a complete physical exam, including the complete system on patients identifying abnormalities and changes, and documents findings in the patients chart and relays pertinent information to the physician.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Provides leadership and direction for the program and office staff, and mentors office staff , providing leadership and direction.
  • Supports the activities of the medical director, physicians, and Supervisor of Operations through consultation and direct patient care activities in physician office settings.

    EDUCATION

    • Graduation from a recognized college or university of nurse practitioner training.

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a licensed physician assistant (PA) or advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) who functions as a member of the health care team to provide high quality, comprehensive acute and/or routine medical/surgical care of Rush patients within the scope of practice granted in accordance with the Rush University Medical Center medical staff bylaws. The APP will promote collaboration between multiple disciplines to ensure cost effective and quality patient care. The individual who holds this position will exemplify the Rush mission, vision and values and act in accordance with the policies, procedures, guidelines of Rush, including the Rush Medical Group Customer Service standards. Successful candidates will also meet all other state and federal regulatory practice and accreditation standards. Position Requirements Nurse Practitioner: Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse Masters of Science in Nursing or Doctorate of Nursing practice with clinical specialty appropriate to position. Current certification by American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioner (AANP). Maintains State of Illinois and Federal DEA license. Must maintain Rush University Medical Center (RUMC) clinical privileges. CPR, ACLS and PALS certifications. Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant/Associate Program. This total pay range is for a full-time, 1.0 FTE employee, and includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role.
