We are looking for a Wound Care Nurse to care for our patients and facilitate their speedy recovery. You will also be responsible for educating them and their families on prevention and healthy habits. The ideal candidate will be a responsible and well-trained professional able to give the best nursing care with little supervision. You will be able to follow health and safety guidelines faithfully and consistently. The goal is to-promote patient’s being-by providing high quality nursing care.

 

Responsibilities: Wound Care Nurse

  • Administer treatments and procedures in accordance with the physician’s orders.
  • Ensure that residents are medicated prior to treatments when appropriate.
  • Assist with orienting residents and families to the wound care process upon admission.
  • Observe and document resident response to treatment, at a minimum weekly, and as needed.
  • Ensure adequate levels of treatment ointments, supplies and equipment are available at all times.
  • Maintain the comfort, privacy, and dignity of each residMaintain a comprehensive understanding and adherence to all aspects of resident rights, including the right to be free of abuse.
  • Promptly report to the Administrator all incidents or evidence of resident abuse or violation of resident’s rights.
  • Promptly report injuries of unknown origin to the Floor Nurse and Director of Nursing, including skin tears.

 Requirements: Wound Care Nurse

  • A minimum of 1-2 years’ wound care nurse experience
  • A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Valid nurses license in the state of Wisconsin
