A leading Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) / Risk Manager to join our leadership team. This dual-role position is ideal for a strong clinical leader who is passionate about quality care, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation.

Position Overview

The ADON / Risk Manager supports the Director of Nursing in overseeing clinical operations while leading the facility’s risk management and quality assurance programs. This role plays a critical part in ensuring patient safety, minimizing risk, and maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership (ADON Duties):

  • Assist in the daily management of nursing operations and staff oversight
  • Support staffing coordination, scheduling, and clinical workflow efficiency
  • Provide supervision, guidance, and evaluation of nursing personnel
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local healthcare regulations
  • Participate in survey readiness and regulatory inspections

Risk Management & Quality Assurance:

  • Lead the facility’s risk management program, including incident/accident investigations
  • Track, trend, and analyze incidents to identify areas for improvement
  • Develop and implement corrective action plans to reduce risk exposure
  • Oversee Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of incidents and compliance matters
  • Educate staff on risk prevention strategies and best practices

Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of supervisory experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting
  • Prior experience in risk management, QA, or compliance strongly preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of state and federal regulations, including survey processes
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
