Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional patient care and family support throughout the three phases of the surgical experience.
- Collaborate with physician members of the healthcare team, offering equipment, supplies, and support in Pre-Op and PACU areas.
- Support organizational goals by delivering quality customer service and actively participating in performance improvement efforts.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to teamwork and cooperation within the healthcare team.
- Ensure a safe and comfortable environment for patients, managing potential risks and hazards in the hospital setting.
- Maintain effective communication with colleagues and adapt to changes in daily schedules and priorities.
- Prioritize patient needs and provide timely assistance, especially during busy periods or urgent situations.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality when handling patient information and medical records.
- Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure patient safety and compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; Bachelor's in nursing is preferred.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey is required.
- BLS certification is mandatory upon hire or transfer.
- ACLS and PALS certifications are required, as designated by specialty.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to adjust to changing schedules and priorities are essential.
- Prior experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center is preferred but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in Clinical Applications is preferred at the time of hire; training will be provided for this skill.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy environment with frequent interruptions and a high level of noise.
- Physical requirements include standing for extended periods, occasional lifting up to 20 pounds, and quick walking.
- This position reports to department leadership and requires adherence to the essential functions outlined in the Assessment and Evaluation Tool.
