Day Kimball Health is hiring a Medical Assistant for the Danielson Family Medicine Office!

Location: Danielson, CT

Shift: Day Shift, 40 Hours

Medical Assistant Job Summary

Under general supervision of the Office Supervisor in an outpatient clinical setting, provides initial patient triage, registration, patient intake services, assist with direct patient care, and performs specialized medical procedures of a routine nature, as dictated by established clinical protocol.

Performs the clerical duties and facilitates the smooth functioning of the patient care flow.

Medical Assistant Key Responsibilities

  • Assists with direct patient care procedures and related tasks; checks in patients, assists in obtaining patient histories, takes vital signs, prepares charts, and assists with medical examinations.
  • Accurately transcribes physicians' orders, completes all necessary forms, requisitions, and communications required to implement orders.
  • Schedules and monitors patient appointments; may coordinate routine office activities and administrative functions in support of unit activities.
  • Performs routine specialized procedures, which could include sterile dressing changes under established protocols.


Medical Assistant Required Skills And Qualifications

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current CPR training required.
  • Successful completion of CMA or CNA Program preferred.
  • Completion of a Medical Terminology course preferred.


Experience:

  • One to three years’ experience in clinical position preferred.
  • Prior computer experience required.
  • One to three years’ experience as a nursing or medical assistant or in a related field preferred.

Summary: Accountable for accomplishing a wide variety of patient oriented functions associated with day to day operation of the Wound Therapy Clinic and/or organizational needs, in a professional and timely manner.
