Minimum Qualifications

  • Specialized Diploma Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required
  • Patient-and Family-Centered Practice Knowledge of how to convey respect and collaborate with each patient, family and/or designated care partner in care and care planning.
  • Cultural Awareness Knowledge of people with diverse backgrounds and the ability to convey respect and connect effectively.
  • Effective Communication Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques, ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.   • Patient and Designated Care Partner Education Knowledge of child and adult education techniques and the ability to elicit learning priorities and needs and educate patients and their designated care partners on the patient's condition, the treatment and medications suggested and given, and the next steps in the patient's recovery.
  • Medication Administration and Prescription Knowledge of various medications used to treat patients, ability to apply this knowledge to the administration of medications and to the prescription of drugs for continuing treatment outside of the hospital.
  • Discharge Planning Knowledge of the patient's post-discharge needs and the ability to partner with the patient and family/designated care partner(s) in developing a discharge plan and arranging for follow-up care.
  • Assessment and Diagnosis Knowledge of various tools and techniques for patient assessment and nursing diagnosis or clinical judgement, ability to explore and analyze reasons behind symptoms and generate resolutions according to available drugs, facilities and techniques.
  • Health Information Documentation Knowledge of the relevance of health information and appropriate documentation methods, ability to record medical histories, symptoms, vital signs, medications, diagnoses, treatment plans, procedures, tests, and medical results in written or electronic form.
  • BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • RN - Licensed Registered Nurse PA - State of Pennsylvania
  • Prior hospital experience required
  • Shift Hours: Full Time/Nights - 36 hours weekly

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree BSN or completion of BSN or appropriate advanced degree within 3 years of hire strongly preferred
  • 1 year Previous experience as an RN in an acute care setting strongly preferred

  • Active RN license required in state of practice

Physical Demands

Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. *Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.

The primary role of the ADON is to assist the Director of Nursing in planning, developing, and directing the functions of the Nursing Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, as well as adhering to the policies and regulations of the facility to ensure that the highest degree of quality care is delivered at all times. RN Assistant Director of Nursing ADON Responsibilities: Assist Director of Nursing in managing the day-to-day functions of the nursing department, in accordance with current rules, regulations and guidelines of a long-term care facility Contribute ideas and support to foster a nurturing and productive nursing philosophy while maintaining department goals and objectives. Assist the Director of Nursing with compliance and effective communication between all levels of nursing staff to ensure proper care is maintained for each resident Promote positive employee relations, strong customer service ethic and commitment to ongoing staff education and training Make recommendations to the Director of Nursing that will assist the nursing service department in meeting the day-to-day needs of residents. Make written and oral reports/recommendations to the Director as necessary/required, concerning the operation of the nursing service department. Participate in the implementation of the facility’s quality assurance program for the nursing service department. Participate in facility surveys as requested by the Administrator or the DON Perform administrative duties such as completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, charting, etc., as necessary Collaborate with facility physicians or specialists regarding resident care Educate residents and staff concerning health maintenance and disease prevention Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities as necessary Maintain accurate resident medical records Provide advice and emotional support to residents and their family members Serve as substitute DON when necessary Performs other related job duties as required RN Assistant Director of Nursing ADON Salary $130,000 per year RN Assistant Director of Nursing ADON) Qualifications: Graduate of an approved School of Nursing is required Must be currently licensed by the State Board of Nursing At least 3 years of Supervisory Experience Experience in Long Term Care RN Assistant Director of Nursing ADON Benefits offered including: Vacation, PTO, 401K, Health Insurance, Dental, Vision Equal Opportunity Employer
