LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse)

River Park Hospital, a 165-bed facility and a leader in behavioral health care, located in Huntington, WV has an opening for a full-time day-shift and a night-shift Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). River Park provides acute inpatient services to children, adolescents, adults and seniors and features a 22-bed residential treatment program for children and adolescents and a 25-bed adult forensic unit.

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) will deliver quality nursing care to psychiatric adult, geriatric, adolescent and child patients. Key Responsibilities include: Conducts ongoing and individualized nursing care duties as assigned and as dictated by the patient’s condition in accordance with physician orders and facility protocols. Monitors for and reports change in patient physical or mental status. Collaborates with other team members in the development, implementation, and evaluation of an individualized plan of care. Administer patient medications as prescribed by physician. Provide education to patients on their prescribed medications, documenting this in the patient record. Documents shift observation of patients as assigned, following up on vital signs and accu-check results prior to dispensing medication. Transcription of medication orders in a timely, error free manner, and ensuring reason for PRN medication is documented.
Qualifications
Position Requirements:
Attendance of accredited vocational school for LPNs. Current State of West Virginia LPN License (or eligible). Current CPR/AED certification. Previous experience in behavioral health preferred.
