Job Summary and Qualifications

  • In collaboration with the patient, the patient’s family, and other members of the health care team, the Inpatient Rehabilitation Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing, evaluating, planning, implementing and coordinating a treatment plan and achieving the goals of the nursing department. You serve as a key position of the interdependent team, and hold responsibility for achieving positive patient and departmental outcomes.

    What you will do in this role:

    · You will maintain overall accountability/responsibility for assigned patients

    · You will assist a patient exercise, provide proper skin care to prevent skin breakdown and ensure patients are properly positioned to prevent further immobility

    · You will coordinate with the rehab therapy team to provide acute medical management to improve a patient’s loss of or impairment in functional skills such as: mobility, cognition, activities of daily living and communication

    · You will administer medications in accordance with physician orders

    · You will instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment plans


    • Registered Nurse Diploma

A Brief Overview The Registered Nurse is responsible for the provision of nursing care based on standards of care and professional nursing practice: accountable for the outcomes of nursing care delivered. What you will do Assesses, utilizing age specific data, the patient’s physical, psychosocial, and spiritual status in a comprehensive manner. Performs initial and ongoing assessment including observation, physical examination, laboratory/test results, and patient response to procedural intervention. Completes required documentation within organizational standards. Participates in the identification and clarification of patient needs, as evidenced by participation in multidisciplinary care planning, to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Incorporates patient teaching/discharge planning to promote optimal patient outcomes. Coordinates and documents appropriate discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge. Education Qualifications Associate's Degree in Nursing. (ADN) Required Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. (BSN) Preferred Master's Degree in Nursing. (MSN) Preferred Experience Qualifications Previous experience in an acute care critical care setting. Preferred Skills and Abilities Works with patients, families, physicians, and other health care providers. Licenses and Certifications Registered Nurse - South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation in good standing with South Carolina Board of Nursing. Required Basic Life Support Certified - American Heart Association is required within 30 days of hire.
