Job description

We are looking for LPNs or RNs to care for our residents in a professional and considerate manner. LPN and RN professionals must be first and foremost qualified and compassionate. 

Responsibilities

  • Record a patient’s medical history accurately
  • Take and record measurements of blood pressure, temperature, heart rate etc.
  • Observe patients under treatment to identify progress, side-effects of medications etc.
  • Monitor patients’ condition including fluid intake and output and compose patient charts
  • Assist ailing patients in daily necessary activities such as eating, bathing etc.
  • Administer injections, prescribed medications, enemas etc., clean and dress wounds and assist with other basic medical care tasks
  • Collect samples for lab testing as assigned
  • Provide emotional and psychological support when needed
  • Communicate with patients’ family or friends to provide advice, comfort and release instructions

Skills

 

  • Proven experience as LPN or RN
  • Ability to undertake a variety of diverse care tasks and work in a multidisciplinary team
  • Familiarity with hospital health, safety and sanitation standards and procedures
  • Understanding of confidentiality obligations and nursing best practices
  • Excellent knowledge of medical and hospital terminology
  • Good knowledge of MS Office and data entry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate and able to handle stress
  • Successful completion of LPN or RN license program is a must

Position Summary: Assist physician with duties necessary to support the needs of the practice working within and to the maximum scope of license Education, License & Cert: LPN ‐ Must be licensed in the state of practice. Experience: One‐year experience in healthcare field preferred but not required Essential Functions: 1. Directs patient to exam room and prepares patient for exam or treatment by identifying height, weight, respirations, blood pressure, temperature, additional testing, and records same on chart. Will also interview patient to obtain history allergies, reconciles medication list and records on chart as requested. 2. Write or call Rx after obtaining surgeon/provider authorization for all department surgeons/providers as needed. Chart as written in patient’s chart 3. Email, fax or call in any insurance referrals. Follow up phone call with referral number to specialist if requested. 4. Assists in smooth departmental operation by filling in for other LPNs, clinical assistant and MOA’s as requested. Answers telephone and performs other clerical functions as necessary (screen calls according to urgency and need). Must train and maintain proficiency in the use of computer equipment and other computer program training as requested.
