Registered Nurse School Setting - Hamburg, NY

This contract position seeks a dedicated nurse, either RN or LPN/LVN, to deliver essential care in school settings for children ages 3 to 18. The assignment runs from 5/18 through 6/30, with the potential for renewal into the next school year if all aligns well.

Your assignment may be at any public or private school within the district, so flexibility and adaptability are important. This onsite-only position will allow you to make a direct impact, collaborating with teachers, parents, and fellow staff to ensure the best outcomes for every student.

What we're looking for:

• Active Registered Nurse license issued by New York State
• Experience providing nursing care to children and adolescents (ages 3-18), preferably in a school or pediatric setting
• Knowledge of state health requirements for children in educational environments
• Proficiency performing routine screenings (vision, hearing, etc.), administering medications, and maintaining accurate health records
• Strong communication skills and comfort working with students, staff, and families
• Availability for the full ESY schedule and openness to possible extension

Key responsibilities:

• Deliver direct nursing care and support to students onsite (no virtual assignments)
• Administer routine tests and screenings in alignment with state and district policies
• Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies, illnesses, and injuries
• Keep thorough documentation for all student encounters
• Collaborate with school personnel on health-related initiatives and compliance
• Educate students and staff on healthy practices and protocols
