RN Weekend Supervisor
The RN Weekend Supervisor is responsible for overseeing nursing services during weekend shifts in the skilled nursing facility. This position supervises nursing staff, supports resident care needs, monitors clinical concerns, and helps ensure compliance with facility policies and regulatory requirements. The RN Weekend Supervisor serves as the nursing leader on duty during assigned weekend hours and communicates important resident or staffing issues to the Director of Nursing or Administrator as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise nursing staff during weekend shifts.
Provide guidance and support to LVNs/LPNs, CNAs, and other nursing personnel.
Monitor resident care to ensure quality services are provided according to physician orders, care plans, and facility policy.
Assess residents and respond to changes in condition, incidents, and urgent clinical needs.
Communicate with physicians, families, and facility leadership regarding significant resident concerns as needed.
Review and follow up on new orders, labs, admissions, discharges, and incidents occurring during the shift.
Ensure nursing documentation is completed timely and accurately.
Assist with staffing oversight and make adjustments as needed to support resident care.
Promote infection control, resident safety, and regulatory compliance throughout the facility.
Complete rounds and address any resident, staff, or family concerns during the shift.
Report significant issues to the Director of Nursing, Assistant Director of Nursing, or Administrator.
Perform direct nursing duties as needed.
Qualifications
Current, active RN license in the State of Texas.
Long-term care or skilled nursing experience preferred.
Supervisory or charge nurse experience preferred.
Strong clinical, leadership, and communication skills.
Current CPR certification required.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand, walk, bend, lift, and assist with resident care as needed.
Must be able to work weekend shifts and additional hours if required.
Working Conditions
Works in a skilled nursing facility environment with frequent contact with residents, families, staff, and physicians.
May be exposed to infectious diseases and other healthcare-related hazards.
