Position Summary: Assists in delivery of clinical care, patient care management, and administrative duties in an ambulatory environment. Prepares patients and assists Providers with clinic procedures. Performs and maintains effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Initiate rooming procedures prior to Provider clinic visit:
- Obtain health history
- Obtain vital signs
- Review medication list and allergies
- Assists Provider during procedures (setting up supplies, passing instruments, preparing sterile trays and equipment, etc.)
- Monitors the patient and address clinical observations during pre, peri, and post procedure
- Educates patient and family members on post-procedural instructions and care
- Manages patient phone messages and triage patient calls
- Demonstrates competency in core & specific clinical skills required of the IR clinic
- Demonstrates knowledge and the skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served
- Promotes patient access by performing intake tasks and functions
- Performs other duties as assigned to support clinic operations and performance/quality improvement initiatives
- Promotes a clean and safe environment of care, utilizing the SAFE error prevention habits
- Provides the highest standard of privacy and confidentiality in matters involving patients, coworkers, and the hospital by abiding by the Standards of Conduct
Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.
- Graduation or completion of Certified Medical Assistant
- CPR certified (BLS)
Preference:
- 2 years Patient Care Technicians/Certified Nursing Assistant experience
