Gateway Regional Medical Center is seeking a compassionate, organized, and adaptable Medical Assistant to join our physician practice team. In this unique float position, you'll provide clinical and administrative support across several outpatient specialty clinics, including:

  • Internal Medicine
  • Pulmonology
  • Family Medicine
  • Orthopedics
  • Hand Surgery
  • Urology
  • Bariatrics

What You'll Do

  • Provide high-quality clinical and administrative support to physicians and advanced practice providers across multiple specialty clinics
  • Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs, medical histories, and updating electronic medical records
  • Assist with patient flow to ensure an efficient and positive patient experience
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate follow-up care
  • Answer and direct phone calls while providing excellent customer service
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
  • Assist with office procedures within the Medical Assistant scope of practice
  • Prepare exam rooms, stock supplies, and maintain a clean, organized clinical environment
  • Float between assigned specialty clinics based on departmental staffing needs

What You Bring

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program required
  • Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
  • Previous medical office or clinic experience preferred, but motivated new graduates are encouraged to apply
  • Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
  • Flexibility and the ability to adapt to multiple providers, specialties, and clinic workflows
