How you’ll make an impact in this role

Responsibilities:

  • Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
  • Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR professional licensure at time of hire required.

The Director of Nursing reports to the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for the development, organization, provision, and evaluation of all nursing functions within the facility with 24/7 responsibility for those functions. Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) with psychiatric emphasis required. Experience : Minimum of five (5) years of psychiatric nursing experience with progressive supervisory experience Knowledge and Skills : Must be able to define his/her nursing care philosophy and standards of care. Must have knowledge of accepted standards of psychiatric nursing care for children and adolescent patients and ability to provide this knowledge in assessment and planning of care. Must have basic understanding of licensing, regulatory and accreditation requirements. Must have knowledge/expertise in staffing and FTE management and experience in development/management of a departmental budget. Must have basic computer skills including word processing, management of spreadsheets, and communication systems.
