Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Requirements & Responsibilities:

  • Active New York State Issued RN License/Nurse Practitioner Certification
  • Must have experience in providing adult and child psychiatric services.
  • Minimum of 1-year experience serving people with developmental disabilities required
  • BLS & ACLS certificate
  • Must be willing and able to commute to multiple facilities within a 60 mile radius
  • Collaborate within an interdisciplinary team, including psychologists, nurses, social workers, and direct care staff.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries in secure settings
  • Psychotropic medication knowledge (antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, antidepressants, anxiolytics)
  • Ability to adapt quickly
  • Strong communication skills
