The LPN is a new graduate or a nurse who has not practiced nursing within the past five years. The LPN functions under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. The LPN provides nursing care, performs basic nursing procedures and administers medications once competency has been determined.

*NOTE: NRP within 6 months of hire into Nursery and L&D.

*NOTE: PALS within one year of hire in PACU

*NOTE: BLS required within 30 days of hire.

*NOTE: SCIPP required within 90 days of hire into Willowbrooke.

*Qualifications as designated in Nursing Clinical Ladder Policy.

Responsible for assisting the physician in clinical care of all patients to include patient assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
