Weekend Nursing Supervisor

Berkshire Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center, an award-winning skilled nursing facility, is looking for weekend nursing supervisors!

Shifts available are 3p-11p and 11p-7a. Weekly pay ranges from $41 to $52, including shift differentials, and depending on the shift. Can be an LPN or RN.

Responsibilities:

  • Meet the nursing and rehabilitation needs of each resident

  • Participate in developing, updating, and communicating residents' care plans

  • Ensure staff is implementing care plans, performing care activities appropriately, and recognizes changes in resident status

  • Maintain current resident care plans on all residents under your care

  • Follow physician's orders, render and/or assist with complete nursing care, treatments, dressings, and other physician orders

  • Transcribe physician's orders promptly and accurately

  • Review patient records daily to assure accuracy and completeness

  • Document comprehensive and complete nursing notes

  • Maintain accurate awareness of residents on alert list/conduct and document RN assessments as needed

  • Document and report any unusual or significant findings; contact the physician when necessary

  • Administer medication according to procedure if applicable

  • Initiate any and all emergency procedures as necessary

  • Conduct oversight of Charge Nurse and CNA performances

  • Contribute to and promote positive resident and family relations

Requirements:

  • Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as an LPN or RN in this state

  • Must be CPR certified

  • Must have as a minimum, one (1) year experience in a hospital, long-term care facility or other related health care facility

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language

  • Must possess accurate and comprehensive assessment skills

  • Must have knowledge of restorative nursing and rehabilitation policies and utilizes appropriately

  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action

  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public

  • Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care

  • Must possess leadership and supervisory ability, and the willingness to work harmoniously with professional and non-professional personnel

Arrives for duty on time and ready to assume responsibility for the unit when assigned. Organizes resident/patient care according to accepted routines and prioritizes activities, and manages work day so as to complete duties within eight hour shift. 2. Responsible and will be held accountable for ongoing assessments of the residents’ nursing care needs. Immediately reports changes in condition of residents with accurate assessments and interventions to supervision, APRN or physician. Transcribes orders from W10. Notifies physician in timely manner of consultant/or post physician visit. Assists the MDS Coordinator in the development of the plan of care for each resident/patient.
