Job Summary

The Registered Nurse, operating room, provides nursing care and service during surgery cases. The RN will be responsible for positioning the patient, prepping the patient, and circulating the case. Experienced in surgical procedures in the following specialties: Urology.

Position Details: The Surgery RN oversees and directs the care of the surgical patient . The Surgery RN is responsible for the care of patient in all-surgical specialties . Serves as primary nurse leading the collaboration of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care . Oversees and directs the care of assistive personnel, maintaining final accountability for the care given to assigned patients . When the need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor . What qualifications you will need Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multistate Registered Nurse license . Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross . Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing , BSN Preferred Experience: One-year experience in acute care preferred . Special Qualifications : Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and other health care team members . Ability to manage a team and work with others within a team to ensure quality patient care . Strong critical thinking skills Degree of Supervision Required : Involves general guidance and direction by the Patient Care Director and Clinical Nurse Coordinator . Employee will be expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures . Personnel in this position must recognize and respond to the behaviors of patients and families in each age category .
