Additional Information About the Role

The OB Department provides support for inpatient and outpatient gynecology, obstetrical, and newborn care to those patients in need of OB nursing services inclusive of treatment, medication, patient teaching and discharge planning.

Part Time Nights (24 hrs per week)

12-Hour Shifts (6:30PM- 7:00AM)

Position requires OB/L&D/Post-Partum and/or Nursery RN experience

Level I Nursery

5 Labor and Triage Suites

6 Private Rooms

4 Semi-Private Rooms

Patient Volume: 40 to 60 per month

Overview

In addition, Parkland’s Farmington campus offers a full continuum of inpatient and medical-surgical and intensive care, obstetrics and emergency services, along with a wide variety of outpatient services including oncology services, an infusion center, a wound care clinic, and the Huckstep Heart and Lung Center. Bonne Terre is a Rural Emergency Hospital providing emergency services and outpatient services including medical observation, lab, radiology, and sleep study.

Responsibilities

Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients and their families on how to manage their illness or injury, including post treatment home care needs and medication administration.

Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Participates in professional development.

Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and patient, family or caregiver in accordance with the established guidelines and standards of nursing care. Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care.

Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care. Assess patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including their values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs.

Oncology Nurse Navigator OBGYN | Women's Center - Medical Plaza | Day/Varies| Part Time

Overview The Oncology Nurse Navigator (ONN) is the main point of contact for an assigned group of cancer patients, their families, caregivers, and referring physicians. The ONN demonstrates excellent critical thinking skills and works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, allied health providers, and administrative support staff to identify and overcome barriers to care, ensure care is seamless, provide timely access to care, and provide education and support throughout the patient's cancer continuum They will also assist in identifying and recruiting potentially eligible patients into relevant clinical trials and other programs to reduce healthcare disparities and improve patient outcomes. Responsibilities The Oncology Nurse Navigator (ONN): Organizes and facilitates weekly multidisciplinary tumor conferences for the assigned disease site group(s) to ensure case materials such as radiology, pathology, and outside treatment notes are assembled before the conference. Is responsible for ensuring that patients are scheduled appropriately, recommended patient follow-up occurs, and patients are educated on their diagnosis and conference recommendations. Serves as the liaison between internal and external referring physicians, other members of the care team, and patients to ensure clinical and administrative information is communicated timely, patients' emotional and support needs are addressed, and the patient has a seamless transition of care throughout the UF Health system. Will collaborate with the department manager, physician leaders, and the Cancer Centers Community Outreach and Engagement team to participate in community outreach and education for their assigned disease site group(s). Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Current RN license in the state of Florida. BSN and professional nursing board certification are preferred at the time of hire. All nurses hired after April 30, 2014, without a BSN will be required to obtain a BSN within three years of hire. All nurses hired after June 30, 2011, without a professional nursing board certification will be required to obtain a professional nursing board certification after two years of hire or at the certification eligibility date for those certifications requiring more than two years of experience. Minimum of two (2) years of recent hospital clinical experience. Oncology nursing experience preferred. Prior navigation experience is preferred. Prefer knowledge in medical, surgical, and radiation oncology, diagnostic and laboratory data interpretation, and clinical management of patients. Excellent communication skills, including writing, speaking, and listening. Excellent critical thinking and decision-making skills. Excellent organizational and documentation skills. Work well under stress and be able to provide emotional support to cancer patients and their families. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current RN license in the State of Florida required.
