RESPONSIBILITIES
With dignity, compassion, and care, your duties include, but are not limited to:

Social companionship
Support with a variety of daily living tasks such as feeding and medication reminders, bathing/dressing and personal hygiene, grooming, toileting, dressing, light housekeeping, light cleaning, laundry and cooking/meal preparation
Transportation to appointments, errands and social outings
Standby assistance with transfers
Overnight safety assistance

QUALIFICATIONS

No healthcare certification is required, but CNA, HHA, or 6 months plus caring for geriatric, chronically ill, or disabled persons preferred
Experience with Dementia and Alzheimer's care a plus
Daily access to email, the Internet, and a mobile phone
Pass a criminal background check (national and any required by the state)
Proof of current, negative, tuberculosis (TB) test
Must be physically able to perform the duties of this position, including the ability to lift, push and pull approximately 25lbs.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation in addition to proof of valid driver's license and valid automobile insurance
Ability to travel 15 miles for any scheduled shifts
A compassionate heart for older adults
Must possess excellent communication skills
Are mature, caring, punctual and reliable

Document the following in the EMR for all assigned residents: a) vital signs b) weight c) meal monitoring d) bowl and bladder e) restorative records Detect and report situations that have a high probability of causing accidents or injuries to residents and/or staff. Assure that work/assignment areas are clean and free of hazardous conditions, i.e. spills, excess carts, etc. and that equipment, tools, supplies, etc. are properly stored while working, as well as before leaving such areas for breaks, meal times, and end of the work day. Assure that established infection control and universal precaution practices are maintained when performing nursing procedures. Follow established safety precautions when performing tasks and when using equipment and supplies. Assure that equipment is cleaned and prepared for the next shift. Assure that work schedules are followed. Maintain the confidentiality of resident information and honor his/her personal and property rights. Attend nursing department, Care Plan, and other meetings as directed by the DON or ADON. Attend and participate in in-service educational classes and on-the-job training programs as scheduled or as directed. Turn in Days Off and payroll special request forms in a timely manner. Follow established fire, disaster, safety, infection control, and evacuation policies and procedures. Perform other related duties as directed by the DON, ADON, charge nurse, or the Administrator.
