Overview POSITION SUMMARY: The Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) provides appropriate safe basic care to patients which includes taking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, specimen collection, and observation of patients for physical/emotional changes. Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts, communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care, and may function in a role providing constant supervision to patients as needed. Overview POSITION SUMMARY: The Certified Medical Assistant will perform delegated clinical and administrative duties consistent with Medical Assistant program education, training, and experience. May work in both the clinical and front office functions of the practice providing clerical support, assisting in the delivery of health care and patient care support activities at the direction of the physician/provider. Performs the duties in accordance with the specific needs of the practice. Qualifications REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High School Diploma or GED AND Must have completed a Medical Assistant training program OR Medical Assistant Training Program equivalency: at least 6 months experience in Certified Medical Assistant role OR proof of completion of on-the-job training/education program for certified medical assisting in another healthcare organization. Licensure/ Certification: Current certification by ONE of the following approved certifying agencies : American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), earning Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential American Medical Technologists (AMT) or American Allied Health (AAH), earning Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credential National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), earning a National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) credential National HealthCare Association (NHA), earning Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) credential National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP), earning a Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) credential PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: Previous experience as a medical office assistant or CNA or equivalent, previous experience with electronic health records or phlebotomy. You will need to be based in the greater Chicagoland area. With the leadership of the Manager, the Registered Nurse functions as an interactive resource in clinical nursing and professional practice. The Registered Nurse is responsible for coordinating and performing direct nursing care for patients, utilizing concepts of the nursing process, serving as resource, preceptor, mentor, and leader for physicians, professional peers, and other fellow employees, and providing participative supervision to the Patient Care Team Members in collaboration with the Patient Manager. Essential Job Functions Collaborates closely with physicians to assess, design, coordinate, implement, and evaluate the patients’ plan of care and the patients’ outcomes. Demonstrates the necessary skills and knowledge to provide complex nursing skills and delegates tasks to other Care Team members according to unit specific competencies as appropriate to the age of the patients served as delineated in the Patient Care Centers Scope of Care. Responsible for and monitors the quality of patient care and patient satisfaction. Accurately and independently pursues professional development opportunities. Assumes responsibility to assure the daily operations of the Patient Care Center are effectively and efficiently maintained.
