Summary

The Clinical Nurse Manager for Primary Care oversees the day-to-day operations of the clinical department, including delivery of clinical services and management of staffing resources.

This role is responsible for coordinating clinical workflows to ensure high-quality, efficient, safe, and patient-centered care. The Clinical Manager partners closely with providers, practice managers, and clinical teams to enhance outpatient service volume, streamline referral processes, improve patient flow, and optimize productivity across all practice locations.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities (KSAs)

  • Education: BSN preferred.
  • License/Certifications: Active State of Maine Nursing License or eligible for licensure. Current BLS certification.
  • Experience: Five years of experience in the nursing field. Supervisory/managerial experience preferred. Experience working with computers.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of nursing practices and standards, medical procedures, tests, and clinical/clerical skills necessary to perform all functions and assist providers. Knowledge of pharmacology is desirable. Knowledge of pharmacology is desirable.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills necessary to interact effectively with patients, families, and other health care providers.
  • Analytical ability sufficient to identify patients at risk and initiate appropriate action.
  • Ability to identify potential crisis situations involving patients and/or families, and to plan strategies for managing these situations when they arise.
  • Analytical ability required for gathering and interpreting information necessary to resolve problems in an accurate and timely manner. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail.
