1. Provides quality nursing care to Residents/residents in an environment that promotes their

rights, dignity and freedom of choice.

2. Provides supervision to G.N.A's and all subordinate staff which includes checking their work to 

ascertain that assignments have been completed.

3. Contribute to the performance evaluation of nursing personnel assigned to the unit with Nurse 

Manager or Assistant Nurse Manager.

4. Work with Nurse Manager to determine your shift's staffing requirements, and making 

recommendations to the Nurse Manager concerning employee dismissals, transfers, hires, etc.

5. Report problem areas to the Nurse Manager. Assist in developing and implementing corrective 

action.

6. Report personnel disciplinary issues, or challenges to the Nurse Manager or Assistant Nurse

Manager. Authority to provide verbal and written warnings documenting specific areas for 

improvement.

7. Supervises direct care of residents and nursing personnel on his/her shift.

8. Gives and receives shift reports.

9. Rounds the unit multiple times during the shift to assure proper care is rendered in a safe and 

clean environment.

10. Keeps physicians and families aware of changes in resident's condition.

11. Assists in developing comprehensive care plans.

12. Completes medical records documenting care provided and other information in accordance with 

nursing policies while maintaining strict confidentiality.

13. Assure that established infection control and standard precaution practices are maintained

when providing care. Follow established safety precautions when preforming tasks and using 

equipment and supplies.

14. Reports all hazardous conditions, damaged equipment and supply issues to appropriate

persons.

15. Maintains the comfort, privacy and dignity of Residents/residents and interacts with them in a 

manner that displays warmth, respect and promotes a caring environment.

16. Answer and respond to call lights promptly and courteously.

17. Assist with new admissions, re-admissions and assist with the transfer of Residents to 

different rooms within the facility.

18. Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with Residents/residents, visitors, 

families, peers and supervisors.

19. Attend and participate in departmental meetings and in-services as directed.

20. Communicate with other employees in a private and respectful manner.

21. Work and be proficient with certain computer systems designated by the company.
