Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer/Director of Nursing, Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse, the Dialysis Registered Nurse is responsible for utilizing the nursing process while delivering, directing and supervising care to patients admitted to the nursing unit. The Registered Nurse plans, coordinates, and provides patient care to include interdisciplinary planning, discharge planning, patient and family teaching for post-hospitalization, and accessing community resources. May perform other related duties as assigned or requested, including Charge Nurse (ACLS certification required). Dialysis Nurses are responsible for overseeing dialysis treatments required by patients suffering from acute or chronic kidney failure as ordered by physicians.

Qualifications

  • RN License in the state you are applying
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current ACLS certification is preferred initially and required after 90 days of employment. Let us help you get your ACLS!
  • **ACLS is REQUIRED from day 1 for all Charge Nurses, High Obs, and ICU.
  • Certification through the Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission (NNCC) is preferred but not required.

How you make a difference As a Registered Nurse (RN), your primary responsibility is to provide patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will work under the supervision of Charge Nurse(s) to provide patient education and activities in accordance with your competencies and education. This role requires excellent communication and critical thinking skills to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities Assist in assessing and planning individual treatment programs, consulting with Charge Nurse(s) and other staff as necessary. Implement medical plans by administering medications, obtaining diagnostic tests, and assisting with medical or minor surgical procedures as needed. Count controlled substances and implement clinical and technical aspects of care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols. Document nursing encounters using the SOAP form of charting as required by policy and attend mandatory staff meetings and training. How you make a difference The Psychiatric Registered Nurse will work under the direct supervision of the Health Services Administrator (HSA)/Program Manager (PM) or higher medical professional to develop, initiate and coordinate patient care plans in a psychiatric setting. They will collaborate with the healthcare team to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Additional Comments This title is part of the New York Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement Statewide Program (NY HELPS). HELPS Program titles may be filled via a non-competitive appointment.
