Position Summary

The Director of Nursing is responsible for overseeing all clinical operations within the assisted living community. This includes supervising nursing staff, ensuring compliance with state regulations, implementing care policies, coordinating resident assessments, and promoting a safe and supportive environment for both residents and employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and clinical oversight to nursing and caregiving staff.

  • Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations governing assisted living communities.

  • Conduct and oversee resident assessments, care plans, and ongoing service evaluations.

  • Manage clinical documentation and maintain accurate, timely records.

  • Coordinate with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary team members regarding resident care needs.

  • Develop and implement staff training and ongoing education programs.

  • Monitor quality metrics and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

  • Manage staffing schedules, performance evaluations, and hiring decisions for clinical staff.

  • Ensure all infection control, safety, and emergency procedures are followed.

  • Promote a positive and supportive environment for residents and staff.

Qualifications

  • Current Nursing license in the state of employment Ohio.

  • 2+ years of nursing experience, preferably in assisted living, long-term care, or geriatric care.

  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge of state assisted living regulations and best practices in senior care.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with diverse teams.

  • Compassion for older adults and a dedication to high-quality care.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience as a DON or ADON in senior living.

  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) in long‑term care.

  • Familiarity with medication management systems.
