As a Pediatric Oncology Nurse Navigator at Renown Health, you'll become the trusted guide families rely on throughout their journey. From diagnosis through treatment and beyond, you'll coordinate care, provide education, advocate for patients, and ensure every child receives compassionate, seamless, and personalized support.

What You'll Do

As the Pediatric Oncology Nurse Navigator, you'll serve as the clinical coordinator and advocate for children receiving outpatient oncology care. Working alongside physicians, advanced practice providers, social workers, child life specialists, pharmacists, and the interdisciplinary care team, you'll help ensure every patient receives exceptional, coordinated care.

You'll build meaningful relationships with patients and families while helping remove barriers, simplify complex care plans, and create a supportive experience throughout treatment.

In this role, you will:

• Coordinate care for pediatric oncology patients throughout their treatment journey
• Serve as the primary clinical resource and point of contact for patients and families
• Educate patients and caregivers about diagnoses, treatments, medications, side effects, and available resources
• Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary care team to develop individualized, evidence-based care plans
• Coordinate referrals, diagnostic testing, specialty consultations, and follow-up care
• Participate in discharge planning and telehealth visits when appropriate
• Advocate for patients while helping families navigate complex healthcare systems
• Identify and address barriers to care to improve access, continuity, and outcomes
• Provide emotional support, guidance, and compassionate communication during every stage of treatment
• Assist with the development and implementation of clinical protocols and quality improvement initiatives
• Support community education, outreach, and specialty program development
• Partner with referring providers to ensure smooth transitions of care and exceptional communication

Minimum Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred

Experience

• Three (3) years of acute care nursing experience, preferably in pediatric oncology, pediatrics, hematology/oncology, or a related specialty
• Experience in care coordination, case management, patient navigation, or community health preferred
• Program development or leadership experience is a plus

Licensure

• Current or eligible for State of Nevada Registered Nurse licensure

Certifications

• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire
• ACLS certification required for applicable position
• Specialty certification in oncology, pediatric oncology, or advanced cardiac care is encouraged and supported

Technical Skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, along with the ability to navigate electronic medical records and virtual care platforms.
