Staff Nurse LTC - Per Diem

$69.77 / hour
Bargaining Unit: EAP Rate of Pay: $69.77hour + DOE + Shift Differential (Base Pay of $62.02 includes 12.5% per diem premium) Summary Performs the nursing process through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of safe therapeutic care for assigned residents. Assists with managing the resident care administered by other members of the nursing staff. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supervises safety of residents and staff to assure staff is following proper safety mechanics and policies while performing job duties. Assesses physical and psychosocial needs of resident. Performs assessments as required by resident’s type, schedule or change in condition. Develops individual plan of care of resident. Implements and evaluates individual plan of care. Identifies and provides education to resident and/or significant other. Coordinates resources for complete and effective resident care. Administers and documents medications per department policy. Collaborates with peers to ensure that responsibilities and duties are completed. Supervises delegated care. Gives complete resident report to receiving/transferring staff. Uses chain of command to address resident/department issues, as needed. Completes review of chart and implements orders. Possesses effective communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills. Utilizes equipment properly. Participates in departmental growth and development. Pursues professional growth. Follows resident care standards. Responsible for self, facility, residents, and other members of staff by following security policies/procedures. Minimum Education and Experience Graduation from a national League of Nursing (NLN), Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or equivalent accredited school of nursing. Six months acute care experience required. Diagnostic Imaging Assistant - Per Diem

$29.90 - $33.64 / hour
Bargaining Unit: EA Rate of Pay: $33.64/hour + DOE (Base pay of $29.90 includes 12.5% per diem premium) Summary Effectively communicates with patients, physicians, radiologists and all departments within the hospital. Assists the technologists, Radiologists, staff Physicians, nurses and outside facilities effectively communicating any business necessary to fulfill patient/customer satisfaction in the Diagnostic Imaging department. Effectively advocates for quality patient safety and satisfaction. Schedules appointments, provides information to callers, performs clerical support duties and otherwise coordinates the daily functions of multiple diagnostic service areas. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Knowledgeable in all eight modalities for Imaging Services at TFH and IVCH (x-ray, mammography, ultrasound, cat scan, PET/CT, fluoroscopy, nuclear medicine, MRI). Knows the preps, exams, protocols and scheduling. Ability to work on multiple hospital programs, including EPIC/MERCY, ENTERPRISE (I-SITE), MED ONC MANAGER (ARIA), NUANCE POWERSCRIBE 360, EPIC/OCHIN, EMIX and SCHEDULE ANYWHERE. Follows up with patients, clinical and non-clinical staff regarding requests for additional information (accurate orders, prior imaging, History and Physicals (H&P’s), reports, etc.) or pre-visit tests (labs, pathology, etc). Confirms completeness and accuracy of ordered procedure(s) according to procedure protocol (diagnosis, labs, prior imaging, contrast, nursing, anesthesia, pathology and different modalities) before patient’s arrival for their procedure. Handles a high volume of calls, prioritizing call urgency and correctly routes calls and/or takes appropriate messages and routes accordingly. Accurately transcribes not-on-staff physicians orders into Epic and amends incorrect orders from on-staff physicians for the physician’s signature. Imports orders, release of information, authorizations and demographics and labels correctly into Epic. Schedules and coordinates emergent (STAT) outpatients, ER and inpatients with a full outpatient schedule by communicating with various physicians, departments, technologists, and radiologists while adhering to procedure protocol. Ability to problem solve scheduling issues and conflicts to ensure a high quality patient experience. Serves as the primary resource for scheduling of complicated procedures, scheduling questions, and, when patients present to radiology. Receives and answers calls from patients regarding scheduling questions. Proficiency in PACS system and ability to process outside image reports for radiologist’s comparison (import outside facility images, fix exceptions, correct timeline, correct modality and body site, import reports, merge and link patients, export images to various facilities, etc). Assists Cancer Center and other physician offices importing images and reports for their review. Support Radiologist as needed daily for exam changes, special requests, prior requests, blocking of schedule, contacting physicians, relaying information to physicians, amending imaging reports, triaging their phone calls, answering of questions for them to minimize interruptions. Support DI Director as needed with additional tasks, assignments, staffing, changes in staffing, interviewing of open positions, workflow procedures and communicating changes in the department to other staff and departments. Ensures patient has prior authorization and collects accurate insurance and contact information during scheduling calls. Maintains and updates knowledge regarding all types of insurance, healthcare coverage, driver’s license and personal identification utilizing reference materials provided, when necessary. Works collaboratively with Health Information Management (HIM) on subpoenas and report requests. Processes requests for release of information in accordance with HIPAA and Privacy Law standards. Verifies patient identity. Greets visitors and patients, ascertains nature of business in a courteous manner and directs to appropriate persons. Interviews patient or representative courteously to obtain and record required information. Articulates information in a manner that patients, guarantors, and family members understand. Assists residents with activities of daily living and ROM. Turns and repositions bedfast residents, safely, to prevent bedsores. Changes bed linens and helps maintain resident's room. Directs visitors, and answers telephone. Documents all care and observations accurately and thoroughly. Possesses effective interpersonal and teamwork skills. Additional Coursework: GE Health Systems, AWHONN Basic, Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring. If hired without L&D experience, must complete and pass a L&D class approved by the Association of American Women’s Health, Obstetric & Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) within 3 months of hire date. Temporary or seasonal staff may be hired with only postpartum experience per management discretion.
