A professional nurse is an individual accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe effective patient and family centered care, customer satisfaction and quality outcomes. The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit, promoting his/her own development with an emphasis on evidence based practice and education supported by a Practice Governance framework. The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members. Applying the caring processes of the Kristin M. Swanson Model of Care, the RN has the responsibility to assess, develop, implement and evaluate the plan of care. The RN focuses on patient and family comforts, education and satisfaction. The RN applies his/her educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care and mentoring/precepting staff.

Night Shift Nursing Supervisor | Wooded Glen Recovery Center | Henryville, Indiana About the Job: PURPOSE STATEMENT: The Nurse Supervisor is responsible for ensuring coordinated delivery of client care in accordance with the established standards of care, mental health practice, facility policy, goals and objectives to ensure safe, efficient, and therapeutic client care. This position provides support to the nursing staff on all units, supervises and directs all aspects of client care, responsible for the day-to-day operation of the facility during times administrative staff are not present or available. Relates effectively with other shifts for continuity of care and ensures staffing is adequate to provide care. Roles and Responsibilities: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provides, delegates, coordinates and evaluates care of client through the collaborative efforts of team members and in accordance with the nursing process and standards of care and practice. Provide general nursing care in a facility. Ensures all clients receive a comprehensive nursing assessment, admitting provider orders completed and care plan initiated. Coordinates nursing, medical and/or behavioral health care activities with all staff to ensure smooth and complete coordination of efforts during shared shift. Identifies and prioritizes issues of importance, including those priority issues as set by leadership. Collaborates with department leaders and corporate leaders, as needed. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Graduation from an approved/accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred. Two or more years’ experience as an RN required. One or more years’ experience in behavioral health required. WORK LOCATION: This position is onsite at the facility and is not a remote position. LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS: Valid current RN license from the state or from a compact state, where applicable. Certified in Psychiatric Nursing preferred. CPR certification and de-escalation training required (training available upon hire and offered by facility). First aid may be required based on state or facility. SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS: One or more years’ supervisory or charge nurse experience preferred.
