The Surgical Technologist II acts as a member of the surgical team providing patient care to the patients undergoing surgical procedures in all areas, including a variety of complex procedures, by assisting the surgeon with instrumentation. Under some supervision, prepares the appropriate instrumentation and materials for use during and on the surgical field, passing instruments, assisting with room turnover, and performs other scrub duties as directed. Assures all materials are available and in working order and verifies own skill in using equipment correctly. Provides indirect patient care activities such as patient transportation. Assist with standard work and cleaning at completion of procedure. Maintains aseptic technique; actively monitors situations that could lead to a breach in aseptic technique.
