- Pre-Procedure Care:
- Assess patients before anesthesia for procedures, treatments, and imaging.
- Collect relevant patient history, review medications, allergies, and vital signs.
- Educate patients and families regarding anesthesia procedures, expectations, and recovery.
- Ensure appropriate preparation for anesthesia administration, including pre-anesthetic medications when applicable.
- Intra-Procedure Care:
- Work collaboratively with anesthesiologists, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure patient safety and comfort.
- Post-Procedure Care:
- Monitor and assess patients during recovery from anesthesia, ensuring safe and effective transition to post-procedure recovery.
- Manage pain and complications post-procedure, providing necessary interventions.
- Provide discharge instructions and ensure patients and families understand the aftercare process.
- Pediatric patients (approximately 75%) and adult patients undergoing anesthesia for procedures, treatments, and imaging.
- Provide age-appropriate care tailored to the specific needs of pediatric and adult populations.
- Full-time position with service hours from Monday to Friday, 0700-1900.
- No call, weekend, or holiday requirements, offering a work-life balance.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire.
Experience: 1 year of relevant experience.
Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling, bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
The pay range for this role is $39.90 - $53.00 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.Benefits
