About the Role:
As a Staff Development Coordinator (SDC), you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating staff training programs that meet the needs of our residents and staff. You will work closely with facility leaders to develop a training plan that addresses regulatory requirements and facility needs. Your expertise will help ensure that our staff has the knowledge and skills needed to provide high-quality care to our residents.
Responsibilities:
Conduct educational needs assessments to identify areas for improvement
Develop and implement training programs that meet regulatory requirements and facility needs
Plan, schedule, and conduct orientation programs for new staff members
Develop and direct refresher training for existing staff
Collaborate with department managers to develop competencies for meeting residents' needs
Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary adjustments
Maintain training records and reports
Provide opportunities for staff to obtain continuing education credits
Requirements:
A nursing degree from an accredited college or university, or be a graduate of an approved LPN/RN program
Two years of experience as an LPN/RN
Eligible to participate in federally funded health care programs
Meeting state requirements for relevant licensures or certifications and having no disciplinary action in effect against professional license
Extensive knowledge of current standards of practice and the rules, regulations, and laws related to the long-term care industry
Ability to teach this knowledge to others
