WHAT WE NEED:

Franciscan Physician Network is seeking a PRN Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to join our team to meet the growing demands for Anesthesia services in the Lafayette, Indiana area. This PRN position will be based at Franciscan Health Lafayette East, joining a group of 15 providers covering a broad range of patients. This is a high-performing, well-respected group with a great culture of teamwork that provides patient-centered care.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Ideal candidate will have a strong focus on clinical excellence and patient satisfaction. Candidate will display exceptional interpersonal skills and desire to develop strong ties with the community and existing medical staff. Provider will need to work collaboratively with all physicians and staff members and deliver the highest quality of patient care.

Qualifications:

  • Must have graduated from Master's level Nurse Anesthesia program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA)
  • Must have passed the National Certification Examination (NCE) (administered by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists) and hold a current certification from the Council of Certification of Nurse Anesthetists
  • Must hold current ACLS and PALS certifications

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:

  • Practice with an established group of Anesthesiologists, Anesthetists and CRNA’s
  • No call required
  • No travel required
  • This position follows the Direct Anesthesia Medical Supervision model with a physician-led team approach with large variety of case types
  • Procedures include: orthopedics, ENT, healthy pediatrics, GYN, neuro, general surgery, urology, plastics, reconstructive and vascular

Reviews medical history, evaluating patients and determining proper methods of anesthesia. Performs or evaluate diagnostic tests, such as radiographs (x-rays) and electrocardiograms (EKG’s). Measures and monitors the level and speed at which anesthesia is administered. Monitors patient vital signs to ensure safety, to include skin color, pupil dilation, pulse, heart rate, blood pressure, respiration, ventilation or urine output. Informs physician of patient’s condition during anesthesia. Manages patients’ airway or pulmonary status using techniques, such as endotracheal intubation, mechanical ventilation, pharmacological support, respiratory therapy, and extubation. Oversees patient recovery from anesthesia and cares for patient’s immediate post-operative needs. Prepares prescribed solutions and administers local, intravenous, spinal or other anesthetics following specified methods and procedures. Responds to emergency situations by providing airway management, administering fluids or drugs, and using basic or advanced life support techniques. Develops anesthesia care plans. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
