As a Full Time Behavioral Health Nurse Practitioner (NP), you'll provide care to client employees and their dependents in our Health Center located in Elko, NV. The scheduled hours are 4x10 shifts of 8:00am-7:00pm, Tuesday-Friday. Join us and be a part of our growth!

What You'll Do:

Performs physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines.
Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients’ clinical problems and health care needs.
Records physical findings, and formulates plan and prognosis, based on patient’s condition.
Collaborates with Physician, behavioral health professionals and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plan as necessary.
Prescribes or recommends medications or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy, or related therapeutic procedures.
Refers patients to Physician for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment.
Maintains medical records using (In some health centers it may be using Electronic Medical Record software).
Educates and coaches nursing staff on best nursing practices.
Interacts with clients to assist in gaining insight, defining goals, and planning action to achieve effective personal, social, educational, and vocational development and adjustment.
In additional to individual counseling, this position may lead psychotherapy groups, seminars, and provide couples and/or family sessions, when appropriate to the site contract
Provide psychotherapy to individuals of all ages.
Interviews clients to gather and interpret social, personal, environmental, and health information.
Evaluate and treat problems within their scope of practice.
Coordinates and plans programs and activities to meet clients social and emotional needs.
Facilitate cognitive, affective, and behavioral health cases, including short term crisis resolution and referrals to community resources.
Establish and maintain a relationship of mutual respect, acceptance, and trust.
Evaluate the effectiveness of treatment services provided to the client.
Identify appropriate resources and assessment instruments, as needed.
Document findings in client records according to established protocol.
Keep case load as required and ensures case documentation is up-to-date and reflective of services.
Identify psychological, emotional, or behavioral issues and diagnose disorders, using information obtained from interviews, tests, records, and reference materials.
Use a variety of treatment methods, such as psychotherapy, behavior modification, stress reduction therapy, psychodrama.
Counsel individuals regarding problems, such as stress, substance abuse, and family situations, to modify behavior or to improve personal, social, and vocational adjustment
Discuss the treatment and medication therapy of problems with clients.
May require other duties as assigned.

Additional Information: This is a full-time position with approximately 75% of effort towards clinical services and 25% of effort towards didactic and specialty education in child and adolescent psychiatry; primary duties are Monday through Friday 8AM-5PM. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Assessment of Health Status: Performs and documents in the medical record a complete history and physical examination. Orders and collects data using appropriate assessment techniques, relevant supporting diagnostic information and diagnostic procedures where indicated. Diagnosis: Collaborates with interdisciplinary health care team in making accurate and diagnoses of acute and complex chronic conditions. Manages diagnostic tests through ordering, interpretation, performance, and supervision. Formulates differential diagnoses by priority. Formulates Plan of Care: Identifies expected outcomes from diagnosis, formulates and documents a plan of care to address acute and complex, chronic health care needs. Utilizes evidenced-based practice guidelines or protocols in an individualized, dynamic plan of care that can be applied across the continuum. Implements and modifies plan of care: Prescribes diagnostic strategies and therapeutic interventions both pharmacologic, non-pharmacologic and surgical (as needed) to achieve expected outcomes. Manages further diagnostic tests through ordering, performance and interpretation. Communication and Collaboration: Maintains ongoing communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary health care team members. Facilitates communication with patient, family and staff to promote continuity of care across the inpatient and outpatient continuum of care. Documentation: Documents key components of patient's progress via daily progress note, transfer, and discharge summary and/or clinic note, where applicable. Documentation will be timely and must meet compliance standards while accurately capturing patient acuity and/or complexity. Professional Practice: Seeks opportunities for the analysis of evidenced based practice. Attends Grand Rounds, MM & I presentations and other education opportunities as available. Maintains continuing education to maintain licensure and certification requirements. Actively participates in required professional development fellowship curriculum.
