The Primary Care Lead is a working RN role, providing clinical guidance and operational support to the ambulatory nursing team to promote high-quality, patient-centered care and efficient clinic operations. This position serves as a clinical resource and mentor for staff, supporting standardized workflows, evidence-based practice, continuous improvement, and regulatory compliance. While this role does not have direct supervisory responsibility, it partners closely with the operational and clinic nursing leadership to coordinate daily operations, support staff development, and facilitate the implementation of organizational initiatives.
The Lead assists with the RN Clinic Supervisor with development, implementation, and evaluation of clinical workflows, rooming standards, and care delivery processes – while using a standard enterprise approach. Responsibilities include assisting with onboarding and orientation of new employees, mentoring staff, supporting ongoing education and competency validation, participating in quality improvement initiatives, monitoring compliance with regulatory and organizational standards, and assisting with policy and procedure development.
This role collaborates with clinic leadership on staffing coordination, interview and hiring processes, operational decision implementation, and program growth initiatives. During the absence of the on site Managers/Directors, the Lead serves as a clinical and operational resource while escalating personnel and performance issues to the appropriate leader.
The successful candidate demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills, builds collaborative relationships with leaders, providers and staff, exercises sound judgment, effectively problem-solves, and promotes a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous learning, and exceptional patient care.
